Super pollinators everywhere.
17th July ‘25
Happy Thursday everyone! I’ve been round the gardens seeing how active the pollinators are being! My pictures were going to celebrate the flowers but clearly there’s way more to celebrate than meets the eye!
We are so grateful for the slightly cooler temperatures and appearance of cloud cover. The effects of the last couple of weeks of intensity remain to be seen. How some of our produce will be able to mature from this point on, having been so annihilated, I don’t know. Lots of love, appreciation and continued watering will hopefully help…
The rocket ploughs on - another row just sown.
We have one aubergine! We really hope Omerite will work her magic saving the seed as she did last year.
The lettuce seed looks so proud and the tomatoes are quickly turning red….and tasty!
This year we have so many courgettes, the plants are thriving and the pumpkins/squash are looking good, although potentially confused. (The curcurbits cross pollinate particularly easily, so seed saving is very difficult with open pollination. We need to learn how to effectively pollinate by hand.)
…and a couple of before and laters….
