Feeding the 50….
7th July ‘25
We have absolutely loved working with Alfie again, this time providing what we can for his 6 course dinner menu for 50 people tonight. It has been wonderful having the garden produce totally loved, appreciated and wanted in this way. Our small plot of land is singing with joy! The lettuces and borage flowers were literally clamouring to be picked - saying pick me, me, me, me, me at 6 o’clock this morning! I’m reading ‘Mutant Message Downunder’ again and really hearing to honour a beings purpose for living. I’m resting ever more comfortably with knowing that the higher purpose of the plant beings all growing at Griffin, is to provide nourishment, vitality and pleasure to those who eat them. They are sad when they don’t get to fulfill this purpose and end up on the compost - although, we show huge gratitude for the quality of compost they make!
Phil and I had finger scorching and pricking fun with the 1st ever globe artichokes from the gardens this week….goodness they are an effort but the flesh was delicious! We love it when Suzi visits as she brings a beautiful depth of connectivity to the trees and plants around her that I am still dreaming of reaching. It was her who fed back to us that the sweetcorn would like artichokes near them and so now, a couple of years later, we have the plants are producing their edible globes as well as supporting the sweetcorn.
