Bee music.
31st July ‘25
This week, walking through the top orchard, I’ve found myself being still enough to hear the incredible music in amongst the prolific purple Common Knapweed flowers. It’s low and mesmeric. The bees are literally humming their tune as they go about their vital short lived and completely freely given work. Or maybe their tune is created as a by-product of their hardwired freely given efforts? It’s very beautiful.
Last week was intense! The heat ramped and ramped and the preferred place to work was saving seed in the shade of the brolly. It was Phil who stuck it longest in the poly tunnel tending to the tomato plants, which is an ongoing need and Carole who stuck it the lonest tenaciously diligent in her mission to dead head ALL the calendula flowers across the gardens.
