Celebrating the herbs.
I hope you have all survived the intensity of the beautiful harvest super full moon?!
Today I am celebrating the Griffin herbs! Parsley, sage, thyme, oregano, chives, rosemary, mint, lemon balm, lovage and marjoram….! Also Trudi’s rocket, Omerite’s triffid yacons and the lettuce Steve planted out yesterday….
We had the open day on Sunday and offered a bounty full table. We had a steady stream of interesting people make the effort to come down to the gardens to discover the stillness, the peace and our limitless appreciation for what nature is showing us.
It’s definitely a strange Autumn in that the conditions must be such that things are being tricked into germinating and blossoming at a time when they’d be best off not! The winter cold will presumably cut the growth in its prime in due course and the plants will have to muster all that vigour again in the Spring. Once again, it is such an interesting reflection that nature does what it does to the best of its ability when the right condition present and can’t not. It’s not waiting to be told; it’s not watching what it's neighbour is doing before acting; it’s not refusing because it doesn’t want to; it’s not bartering the exchange at every moment…..
