Never ending Sunflowers!
21st August ‘25
The upside to all the intense spells of sun this year is a never ending haul of sunflowers! Cutting long stems and offering them on the table is a new thing and I wonder if, like most things in nature, when you take just what you need with genuine gratitude and appreciation, nature responds by producing more… and more…
Imagine how abundant our experiences will be when all human beings remember and align with this way of being! (And in this process really connect with what they LOVE to offer.)
The tomatoes are equally endless, so please come and get some from our table - turn them into sauces, jams, chutneys or just freeze them, ready to cook with them in the winter.
Phil’s melon is the size of a tennis ball now… and the enormous and very tasty blackberries that are being the greenhouse are a welcome breakfast each morning!
We’ve picked the oversized marrows and will save the seed - fingers crossed for pure seed and as equally successful courgettes next year.
We are excited that Alfie is coming in a bit to see what he can use from the gardens for his pizzas on Sunday again, hopefully he’ll be making his own passata! And…..drum roll…..we have chickens! One of our lovely volunteers has kindly donated us 3 chickens and a cockerel. They aren’t yet at point of lay but hopefully before too long we’ll be offering our very own eggs on our table. Happy days!
