Wintry time of year

13th Nov ‘26

Happy Thursday everyone! Weeding the asparagus and giving some care to the watercress are on the schedule for work in the gardens. Last weeks blitz of the bean bed was so great. We can now weed around the spinach and the broad beans too…. We are down to loading our table with produce just on a Friday so I’ve been prepping the parsnips and squash. Unfortunately the squash aren’t keeping especially well. Whether this is due to this years particular conditions; the variety of the seed or the way we are storing them, we will have to see.

We are on the lookout for kaput chest freezers, if anyone knows of a clean one that is on its way to the tip? They come highly recommended for storage of root crops and the like. (Removing sections of the seal to allow air flow)

The new notice boards are up! Now we can make lists to our hearts content and the office shelving is still waiting to be organised….

Also a little update on the chickens and mushrooms…..
