Grapes galore.
25th September ‘25
It’s Thursday again already! Time is becoming more and more elastic; sometimes the days are whizzing by so fast and at other times, 5 minutes can expand into lasting for at least 15. More often than not both are happening in the same experience at the same time! I love it as I feel lighter and lighter in relation to my own felt experience of being.
Here are photos of our efforts last Thursday evening - such a ginormous pile of pretty manky grapes but we washed them and sorted through them and with the bounty that still remained we juiced them into over 4 litres of the most delicious pink juice! Unfiltered, unpasturised and bursting with grape flavour, we can literally taste it’s healthiness. I think the gardeners who volunteered with us last Friday can be testament to that! And, this was only the grapes from the red vine - Cally and Carole, set to work harvesting, washing and sorting all the grapes from the white vine…..
I think every single plant on the planet has thrown up a mast year this year!! It’s such an expression of nature’s drive to survive.
Phil’s melon this year was small, perfectly formed and super tasty and, drum roll please….we’ve been gifted our first egg! Thank you beautiful chickens!
We’ve also harvested the majority of the squash and pumpkins so Phil’s new shelves are already being put to good use. We’ll cure them here in the dry, light and warm for a week before storing them away in cool darkness. Then we can enjoy them throughout the winter. Some of the things are gigantic!!
Our table is still looking good. Steadily more and more people are finding their way to it; asking for honey and engaging with us in conversation at times or asking to be shown around. It makes me a bit nervous as our small plot of land can’t sustain everyone who is shopping with us all year round….
