Going, going, almost gone.

30th October ‘25

We hope you are doing ok. This week in the gardens we have been taking down the tomatoes. It’s sad as it absolutely marks the end of summer…. It’s a fiddly and dirty job and there’s still more to do. Not least, picking up all the fallen tomatoes - sorting them into those that need to be disposed of to rot down and those that can be made available for people to be creative with green tomato relishes and the like!

I’m also sharing photos of our super lush lemon tree. She always surprises me! As it gets colder I’m sure she’ll appreciate being wrapped in fleece to survive the UK winter once again. The other other lamon plant that we have really doesn’t look as happy. She was in a different area of the poly tunnel and also outside for much of the summer. I’m sure there is something to learn here!

Our plant pots outside the New Shed are still flowering and I love seeing this burst of random colour and the stunning shapes that nature creates.

Our chickens demolished the melon that has been languishing in our fridge!
